YAS Haunted House: Phantom Farm

The Youth Arts Series 5th annual Haunted House 

Take a tractor out to the Phantom Farm, a desolate landscape where the veggies bite back… 

An art-based sculptural installation, pieces in the haunted house were created by the Hilo High School Art Club, UH Hilo CCE Bonner Program, Konawaena National Art Honor Society, Waiākea Intermediate School Art Club, YAS Fall Break Halloween Camp Students, Dena Nakahashi, Ian and Parker Gill, and Akane Kinjo.

The East Hawai‘i Cultural Center (EHCC) Youth Art Month community art installation is an annual project on view in Kalākaua Park each March. The collaborative art display celebrates the importance of arts education for keiki and teens.

Book launch of Vita: Sculptor at work featuring Michael Shewmaker

Sculptor Michael Shewmaker has spent the last 15 years building an iconic three acre sculpture garden in Pepeʻekeo. Working in collaboration with photographer and book designer, Andrzej Kramarz, and renowned curator, Thomas Moran, they have created a unique, innovative book on the work and garden.
 
Please join us for this free event on December 2nd for the launch of Vita: Sculptor at work on an Active Volcano.
